BABY DEDICATION
What is baby dedication?
The precedent for the ceremony of baby dedication may be found in Holy Scripture, as in the presentation of Samuel by Hannah, and of Jesus by Joseph and Mary. Paul reminded Timothy that “from a child” he had known the Holy Scriptures. Jesus considered “the little ones” infinitely precious and he said, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, forbid them not; for of such is the Kingdom of God.”
The purpose of baby dedication is really to be found in the commitment of the parents. Rightly understood, the ceremony is one of parental dedication. The parents are pledging themselves to obey the command of Paul, “provoke not your children to wrath; but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” This ceremony has little meaning unless parents dedicate themselves as well as their child, to God.
How can my family participate? We would love to include your family in our next Baby Dedication Sunday, June 9. Parents must notify the Family LIfe Department of their interest in dedicating their child prior to their participation. Parents then meet with Pastor Lisa Eggert prior to dedication.  KIDS CAMP 2013
June 24-28 – Overnight camp is for rising 3rd through rising 6th graders (age 8 by September 20, 2013 and no older than 12). This sleep-away camp experience promises to be filled with fun, friendships, first time experiences and memories to last a lifetime. VBS is available to children ages 4 through rising 6th graders For the younger children of DAILY VOLUNTEERS there will be nursery care and classes for 2 and 3 year olds HOW TO REGISTER Choose your VBS session, either morning or evening CHILDREN SHOULD ONLY ATTEND ONE SESSION - PLEASE DO NOT SIGN THEM UP FOR BOTH!
