Youth Choir
Since 1992, the goal of the WEAG Youth Choir has been to serve people in need and to show the love of God, wherever we are able, through urban gospel music and original drama. We are a choir of about 120 middle & high school youth.
In the fall, we perform as a choir in Glorious Christmas Nights. Our season begins in October and culminates in the two- week run of the Christmas production in December.
Each spring we perform a two-night production with the goal of bringing in teens from all around Richmond and showing them the message of salvation through music and original drama. This season runs from February to May. In past years, we have also taken these shows on tour to Atlanta, New York, Nashville and Chicago. We've even taken our choir as far as Germany and Belize. On these tours, we sing, dance, perform and serve. We've cleaned bathrooms, streets & parks, organized games and activities for inner-city kids, and done painting and work on shelters and missions, and we've performed well over a hundred concerts...
- We have sung at least 60 churches of all sizes ranging in members from 20-2000.
- At the invitation of the Warden of Fluvanna Women's Correctional Institution, we do one or two concerts there each April.
- We have performed on Chicago's famous Navy Pier, on numerous occasions in New York City's Battery Park, and at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Ohio.
- We love to work & sing in homeless shelters and missions such as Helping Up Mission in Baltimore, Hope for the Future Ministries in Manhatten, or with children's ministries such as Metro Ministries of Brooklyn.
